The presentation of credentials took place at the Noordeinde Palace in The Hague on 14 September 2022. In a formal ceremony the Ambassador Neilas Tankevičius  presented the King with the letters of credence and officially took office.

During the personal introductory meeting the Ambasador discussed bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the situation in Ukraine, regional security, the EU's energy policy and other issues.

The Netherlands is one of Lithuania's main economic partners. This country is the fourth largest investor in Lithuania and one of the most important trading partners. N. Tankevičius states that the dialogue with the Netherlands in the field of energy and innovation is very important for Lithuania.

Ambassador N. Tankevičius emphasized that Lithuania highly values the Netherlands as a NATO ally, practically contributing to increasing the alliance's security in the eastern part of Europe. "We are grateful to the Netherlands for their solidarity and practical assistance when needed," said N. Tankevičius.
