World Music with Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė in the Netherlands

Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė - an artist from Lithuanian, gifted with a warm voice accompanied by traditional Baltic string instrument kanklės.  In the concert on November 20, 2014 in Utrecht she will performe together with Belgian jazz guitar artist Bert Cools and her compatrion Dominykas Vyšniauskas - a famoust trumpet player. The concert will be inspired by peaceful minimalistic Lithuanian folk music mixed with improvisation. The songs are talking about human connection with nature and ritual magic in everyday life, and have a subtle combination of gentle melancholy and peaceful joy.

Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė is a young Lithuanian music artist, gifted with a warm voice accompanied by traditional Baltic string instrument kanklės. She is taking part in international music projects (Merope, MaLituanie, Granvat), where she delivers her native music roots with sensitivity and depth. Indrė is one of the few kanklės players who is maintaining and exploring this traditional instrument’s sound in various music styles around the world. 

Bert Cools is becoming a well known Belgium guitarist mainly active in the improvisation scene of Europe. He is playing around the whole world with many different bands as a leader and also a sideman. Bert is also one of the creators of the new musical platform 'granvat'.

Dominykas Vyšniauskas is Lithuanian’s premier jazz trumpeter, mainly focused on jazz and improvisational music scene. He is traveling the whole world with his minimalistic lyrical Nordic trumpet solo improvisations. Trough his caree he has performed with sunch great musicians and bands as Vijay Iyer, Klaus Kugel, Hill Green, Secret Swing Society, Vapirov's Big Band and more.
