THIRD SCHOOL YEAR OF A LITHUANIAN SCHOOL IN THE HAGUE
On the 12th of October, the opening of the third school year of a Lithuanian school „Varpelis“ took place in the Hague. This year pupils will gather on Sundays at the Zuidwalschool, where lessons of „Varpelis“ took place last year thanks to support of the Municipality of The Hague and the Embassy of Lithuania to the Netherlands.
In his greeting addressed to the pupils and their teacher the Ambassador Mr. V.Verba wished a good school year and expressed his gratitude to the initiators of the project thanks to whom the school, bringing Lithuanian children living in the Netherlands together has been active for three years.
About fifteen children of different age will attend the school this year and will have an opportunity to perfection their Lithuanian language skills, learn about history and culture of Lithuania. That is also an opportunity to meet each other, to communicate using their mother tongue, to play and to celebrate various holidays together.
