Screening of the film "The Story of the Baltic University" by Helga Merits

LUBASS (Leiden University Baltic Students Society) and the Embassy of Lithuania in the Netherlands invite you to a movie screening “The Story of the Baltic University” by Helga Merits at the Embassy of Lithuania (Laan van Meerdervoort 20, 2517 AK The Hague) on Tuesday, 10 may 2016 at 07:00pm.

This historical documentary, made by Dutch-Estonian director Helga Merits, is her fourth film and will tell the story of a fascinating yet relatively underexposed episode of Baltic history. It is a story about 170 Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian academics starting up the Baltic University in the most unfavourable circumstances, in a displaced persons camp, in devastated Hamburg of 1946.
