Rasius Makselis at EUNIC’s Creative Cities
EUNIC’s Creative Cities - Exploring ideas around the creative city In the framework of the European Year for Creativity and Innovation, EUNIC Netherlands is offering an international platform to discuss the ever-increasingly relevant topic of the creative city. How and why the cities have opted for investment in culture and why they feel their own city is entitled to the accolade “creative city” will form the basis of the debates supported by the experience of ten European cities.
Litouws Cultureel Centrum working within the EUNIC, in collaboration with SICA and with support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania has invited Rasius Makselis, Head of the Strategic Planning Division at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania to participate in this conference.Vilnius and Sevilla will end the series of debates on the 30th of September in the Instituto Cervantes in Utrecht where Rasius Makselis will present a creative profile of Vilnius, its cultural prerequisites and the challenges of being European Capital of Culture 2009. Sevilla will be introduced by Pablo Juliá, director of the Andalusian Centre of Photography.
The meeting will be under the supervision of moderator Neil Wallace (De Doelen, Rotterdam).
The conclusions of all debates will be presented at the international conference ‘ENJOY. Creativity and Innovation’ on 16 October in Maastricht
