PRESENTATION OF LITHUANIA AT THE ANNUAL TOURISM EXHIBITION
At the annual tourism exhibition VAKANTIEBEURS´09 in Utrecht, Lithuania was presented by the Lithuanian Development Agency and representatives of Lithuanian touristic organizations from Druskininkai, Klaipeda, Silute and the camping association of Lithuania.
Lithuanian Commerce attaché Raimonda Balniene enjoyed the Lithuanian stand and stressed that this year’s stand was very nicely prepared and therefore earned a lot interest from the visitors of the exhibition. The visitors of the exhibition were mostly interested in the opportunity to stay at the newly equipped camping sites and in a popular camping`Apple Island´ nearby Vilnius.
The representatives of the Lithuanian tourism industry were pleasantly surprised that the Dutch visitors of the exhibition did not just show interest in Lithuania, but also knew a lot about the country. This interest was likely spurred by the state visit of Her Majesty Queen Beatrix to Lithuania last June. Visitors of the exhibition were also well informed about upcoming events relating to Vilnius – European capital of culture and world regatta in Klaipeda. According to R.Balniene, the concept of the Lithuanian presentation was well chosen and helped to reach the main target group of Dutch tourists visiting Lithuania, the economic tourist group.
