LOVE FOR NATIVE LANGUAGE UNITES LITHUANIANS RESIDING IN THE NETHERLANDS

On the 24th of January, Lithuanian diplomatic missions and Lithuanian communities in Europe, America and Asia invited Lithuanians living abroad to take part in the National dictation contest. Twelve Lithuanians residing in the Netherlands, as well as the personnel of the embassy, took part in the National dictation contest at the embassy of Lithuania in The Hague.
The text`Partisan`, specially written by Vytautas V. Landsbergis for this occasion, was read by B.Lukosiute. V.V.Landsbergis interwined in his text thoughts of the partisan Lionginas Baliukevicius – ´Dzūkas´. According to the writer, the text about a partisan was created because this year is dedicated to the memory of partisans who fought for freedom of Lithuania. There was also the opportunity to write the dictation at local administration in Lithuania and the Lithuanian diplomatic missions abroad.The original text will be announced on the 28th of January at www.atgimimas.lt. Last year the participants chose the nicest Lithuanian word - ´aciū´ (thank you). This year the nicest onomatopoeia will be chosen. The results will be announced on the 28th of February, after the broadcasting of the final tour from the studio of Lithuanian television in Vilnius.
