LITHUANIAN YOUTH ORCHESTRA ON TOUR IN THE NETHERLANDS
On invitation of the Music school of Rotterdam, the Lithuanian Oginskis Youth Orchestra, lead by Mrs Kristina Domarkienė, is on concert tour in the Netherlands. On Wednesday, 3 october the orchestra visited the Lithuanian Embassy in the Hague. After a short vivacious concert the young musicians and their teachers were greeted by the Lithuanian ambassador to the Netherlands, Mr. Vaidotas Verba. After sharing the first impressions of their visit to the Netherlands, the guests wanted to know more about the daily life and work of our diplomats, about the Lithuanian community of the Netherlands and Lithuanian and Dutch co-operation in culture and economics.
The youth orchestra came to the Embassy straight after their concert in Vlaardingen. On 4th October they are going to give a concert in Soest, 6th October – Rotterdam, 7th October – Amersfoort. The organizers of the concert in Amersfoort is the Lithuanian Cultural Centre of the Netherlands. The concert is going to take place in the culture centre DE KAMERS, Wezeperberg 8, 3825 DJ Amersfoort (Vathorst). The programme consists of the works of J. Naujalis, B. Dvarionas, A.Vivaldi, A. Piazzola and other composers. The concert will start at 16.00 hours. The doors will be open from 15.15 hours. Admission – 7 euro.
