LITHUANIAN EXPERIENCE IN DEALING WITH THE ECONOMIC CRISIS WAS PRESENTED IN THE HAGUE

In the framework of the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Embassy of Lithuania  in cooperation with the European Commission Representation in the Netherlands, has organized a discussion “Budgetary discipline – the recipe for growth?” You can watch the full discussion here. Ms. Ingrida Šimonytė – Deputy Chairperson of the Board of the bank of Lithuania and former Lithuanian Minister of Finance (2009-2012), has presented the Lithuanian experience in tackling the crisis and bringing the economy back to robust growth.

Dr. Lex Hoogduin, Professor of Economy at the University of Amsterdam has linked the Lithuanian case to the current debate on budgetary cuts in the Netherlands.

The discussion was moderated by journalist Mr. Mark Kranenburg (NRC Handelsblad).

For this occasion, a photo exhibition by Marius Jovaiša „Unseen Lithuania“ was exhibited in the “Huis van Europa”.
