LITHUANIA IS THE GUEST COUNTRY OF HUNTENKUNST ART FESTIVAL 2013
On the 24-26th of May, 2013 an annual international contemporary art festival Huntenkunst will take place in Ulft (DRU Cultuurfabriek, Hutteweg 24, 7071 BV). This year Huntenkunst features more than 200 artists from over 30 different countries. Every year one country is put in the spotlight – Lithuania is the guest country this year, with 14 artists presenting their works, namely: Jovita Aukštikalnytė-Varkulevičienė, Virginija Babušytė-Venckūnienė, Aušra Barzdukaitė-Vaitkūnienė, Kristina Danilevičienė, Agnė Jonkutė, Antanas Obcarskas, Algimantas Šlapikas, Monika Furmanavičiūtė, Vigintas Stankus, Algirdas Griškevičius, Rūta Katiliūtė, Židrija Janušaitė, Arūnė Tornau and Linas Gelumbauskas.
You are invited to visit the exhibition, meet the artists and purchase their works at DRU Cultuurfabriek (SSP-location). The opening hours of the Huntenkunst exhibition are: 24th May (Friday) 17:00 - 21:00; 25th May (Saturday) 10:00 - 20:00; 26th May (Sunday) 10:00 - 18:00. Ticket price – 8 euros.
On the 25th of May (Saturday) a special Lithuanian event will take place at DRU Cultuurfabriek (Filmlocation). H.E. Darius Semaška, Ambassador of the Republic Lithuania in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, will open the event at 20:00 hrs. The documentary by Audrius Stonys and Arūnas Matelis ‘Flight over Lithuania’ and a Lithuanian film by Kristijonas Vildžiūnas ‘Back to Your Arms’ (English subtitles) will be shown after that. A performance by an international music group ‘Merope’ will conclude the evening. Lithuanian traditional cake ‘šakotis’ and beverages will be presented for the guests for tasting. Ticket price – 10 euros.
Restaurant ‘Schaftlokaal’ (DRU Cultuurfabriek, Central Building) will be serving Lithuanian food throughout the festival.
