HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM BREMEN REPRESENT LITHUANIA AT THE HAGUE INTERNATIONAL MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE

On 25th -30th  of January, The Hague International Model United Nations (THIMUN) conference will take place in the Netherlands.About four thousand high school students from 49 world countries meet in the capital of the international judicial institutions to participate in the six committees of the General THIMUN Assembly: disarmament and international security, economic and financial, social, humanitarian and cultural, special political and decolonization, administrative and budgetary, legal. One of the main purposes of THIMUN is to look during the debate for possible solutions to world problems. In the agenda of the participants, there are scheduled debates on the matters of human rights, environment, economic growth support, disarmament and other topical subjects. 

This year, Lithuania is represented at THIMUN by high school students from Bremen, Germany. They accepted the invitation of ambassador V.Verba  and visited the embassy. During the preparations for the THIMUN conference, the students were learning about the official Lithuanian positions in the following areas: international politics and economics.  The ambassador welcomed the guests at the Embassy and introduced them to the activities of the diplomatic mission in the Netherlands, presented the cooperation of Lithuania with the international organizations located in The Hague. THIMUN conferences take place annually in the Hague since 1968.
