“Friendship” – Children’s Drawings Exhibition at Europe House

An exhibition of the drawings of the international project „Reaching Out Through Skype“ participants will be exhibited  at the Europe House in The Hague (Korte Vijverberg 5-6) since 20th April 20th till 14th May.

The project is an initiative of Litouws Cultureel Centrum together with the European Commission in the Netherlands. The exhibition is designed from the drawings of children from Greece, Lithuania and the Netherlands. During meetings through the virtual medium of Skype, participating children presented their countries in native language and English and sang songs in each other‘s language.

„Friendship“ was chosen as a theme for these meetings. The participants were also invited to express their views about friendship through drawings.

An important goal of the project was to inspire children to learn languages at an early stage. Multilingualism is a key to intercultural understanding.

In this project participated the following institutions from three countries: Mytikas Primary School, Mytikas, Evia (Geece), „Kaštonas“ of Akademia Dymnasium, Kėdainiai r. (Lithuania), V. Kudirkos Public Library, Kaunas (Lithuania), J. Žemaičio-Vytauto progimnazija, Kaunas (Lithuania),  Primary School Egelantier – Kunstmagneet, Soest (the Netherlands).

All the drawings can be seen at the following web page: www.reachingout.eu
