“BALTIC GUITAR QUARTET” IN THE NETHERLANDS

On February 1, at 20.00 hours, a concert of the “Baltic Guitar Quartet” will take place at the Beatrixhall of the Hilton Royal Parc Soestduinen at Van Weerden Poelmanweg 4-6.  “Baltic Guitar Quartet” is the leading guitar ensemble in the Baltic countries.  The members of the quartet Zigmas Čepulėnas, Sergej Krinicin, Saulius S. Lipčius and Chris Rueben are winners of various international competitions, are also performing as solo artists.  Their performance is marked by sensitive, colourful and congenial ensemble-playing techniques.

The repertoire of the quartet ranges from the Renaissance to contemporary music. On the 1st of February, there will be a unique possibility to listen to their arrangements for guitar of the pieces of Luigi Boccherini, Georges Bizet, Johannes Brahms, Astor Piazzolla, Metallica, M.K. Ciurlionis and pieces written especially for this ensemble by Chris Ruebens.
 
The quartet members have attended master classes with world famous musicians and ensembles, among which the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Oscar Ghiglia, Pepe Romero, Roland Dyens, David Russell, Laura Young, Petras Kunca and the Bandini Chiacchiaretta Duo.
 
The "Baltic Guitar Quartet" was formed in Lithuania in 2004 and in a short period of time has become one of the best guitar quartets in Europe.
