AMBASSADOR OF LITHUANIA DARIUS SEMAŠKA PARTICIPATED AT THE OPENING OF THE NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF “MODEL EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT NEDERLAND”
On the 2nd of October a national conference of the “Model European Parliament Nederland” took place in the First Chamber of the States-General. The participants of this conference were welcomed by the Lithuanian Ambassador in the Netherlands, Darius Semaška.
The Ambassador introduced the priorities of the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and emphasized the importance of their implementation by the European Union Member States, including the Netherlands. The conference was also attended by the Speaker of the Parliament of the Netherlands Mrs. Ankie Broeker-Knol and the Head of the European Commission Representation in the Netherlands Mr. Andy Klom.
Model European Parliament (MEP) is an international simulation of the working of the European Parliament for young people. It aims to give an insight into the dealings and characteristics of the European Parliament. International sessions are organized twice a year. The autumn session of 2013 is scheduled to take place in Vilnius, Lithuania.
