Edvilas Raudonikis assumes duties as Lithuania’s Ambassador to Switzerland
On 9 April, the Ambassador of Lithuania to Switzerland Edvilas Raudonikis presented his letters of credence to the President of the Swiss Confederation Ueli Maurer.
Following the ceremony, the Ambassador and the President discussed cooperation between Lithuania and Switzerland, he possibility for strengthening cultural and economic relations, and the potential for bilateral partnership development.
The Ambassador thanked Switzerland for its financial assistance to Lithuania under the Lithuanian-Swiss Cooperation Programme and expressed the hope that it would continue.
In Bern, the Ambassador E. Raudonikis also met with the State Secretary of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Roberto Balzaretti, the Deputy State Secretary of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation Krystyna Marty Lang, and the Head of Bilateral Relations Division (responsible for relations with EU member states) of the Directorate for European Affairs Pietro Piffaretti.
In Zurich, the Ambassador met with the Chairman of the Lithuanian Community in Switzerland Jūratė Caspersen and visited an exhibition about Lithuanian students at the University of Fribourg.
